“We really pullin’ the tricks out the hat for this one,” said the G.O.O.D. Music artist of the features and production on the tape. “Some artists, if they can’t put tracks on they album, they don’t have an opportunity to do a mixtape. Luckily, I started my shit on the mixtape circuit, and viral, and getting believers that way, so I can do that.”
He later explained how his album will differ from this project. “On the album I have features, but not as heavy [as the mixtape]. Just, more so, stuff that really organically fits,” he explained to XXLMag.com. “The album—I feel like it’s really just what I’ve been working on my whole life, so it’s mainly me; I didn’t wanna have too many features on my album. I got Kanye, Pharrell, Mike Posner. These are people who I really am cool with, who organically fit the songs.
The Detroit MC will be heading out on tour from September 2 until October 1. The Finally Famous Vol. 3 Tour will kick off in Greenwood, South Carolina at the Lander University Amphitheater and rounds out in Bloomington, Indiana, with stops along the way that include New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston and St. Louis.
