The Niceguys: Nice Short Pt. 7 (Video)

DIsplaying the mental and physical discipline necessary to succeed in their Green Room EP track, “10,000 Hours,” The Niceguys present a day at the office (Wire Road Studio); full of heavy drinking, DJing infants and Yves’s fully-loaded, .9mm “wallet.” “I remember when I woke up this morning,” says Christolph, “not that I went to sleep.”

KingPen Slim: The Beam Up 2: So Cinematic (Mixtape)

DMV buzzmaker (and freestyle series contributor) KingPen Slim has joined forces with to bring fans his latest street album, the sequel to last summer’s The Beam Up..

The Beam Up 2: So Cinematic features 12 new joints from the D.C. native, as well as two bonus cuts. Included on the project are reader-approved leaks “The Win,” “My Life Is a Movie,” “21 Gun Salute” and “The Way You Move.”

Fat Beats Announces Schedule of In-Store Performances For Final Weeks

After announcing the closing of their New York and Los Angeles locations, Fat Beats is excited to present a send-off worthy of their hip-hop legacy. A week-long series of in-store performances and music industry panels at both stores will allow the music community to not only learn about the history of Fat Beats and what the future of the music industry holds, but to also celebrate the legacy of one of the strongest music brands in the company of their favorite artists. These week-long in-stores are sure to go down in hip-hop and New York history. Everyone is welcome to come and all events are free.

Today marks the official start of the week-long in-stores for the New York location. This location will host artist perfomances every day this week from 4-9pm until it closes its doors for the final time on Saturday, September 4th, 2010. Additionally, both locations will be selling limited edition commemorative t-shirts, as well as discounted music and merchandise

“We really pullin’ the tricks out the hat for this one,” said the G.O.O.D. Music artist of the features and production on the tape. “Some artists, if they can’t put tracks on they album, they don’t have an opportunity to do a mixtape. Luckily, I started my shit on the mixtape circuit, and viral, and getting believers that way, so I can do that.”

He later explained how his album will differ from this project. “On the album I have features, but not as heavy [as the mixtape]. Just, more so, stuff that really organically fits,” he explained to “The album—I feel like it’s really just what I’ve been working on my whole life, so it’s mainly me; I didn’t wanna have too many features on my album. I got Kanye, Pharrell, Mike Posner. These are people who I really am cool with, who organically fit the songs.

The Detroit MC will be heading out on tour from September 2 until October 1. The Finally Famous Vol. 3 Tour will kick off in Greenwood, South Carolina at the Lander University Amphitheater and rounds out in Bloomington, Indiana, with stops along the way that include New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston and St. Louis. Today Jesse Boykins III in association with Honey Magazine Released a new Track titled “Prototype,” featuring MeLo-X. This track is a rendition of the Andre Stacks track of the same name.

In Honor of Andre 3000 & The Isley Brothers, I decided to finally produce & record the song I’ve been using to start my live set for the past year. On his brand new, exclusive Heartbreaks freestyle, the currently-unsigned emcee flows over original boardwork by Maja 7th. Neak is currently preparing for the fall release of his Neak Rock mixtape, which will find him flowing over beats by the legendary Pete Rock.
