YONAS is one of few who has my full on attention. I’m really interested in seeing what this kid does next.
Like so many artists did, earlier this month YONAS made his way out to Austin for SXSW. Like so many artists did not, however, not only did YONAS perform as part of the 2DopeBoyz.com and DJBooth.net Last Rights showcase, but he also found time to catch up with KarmaloopTV and chop it up with the site. Sitting down for the interview, YONAS discusses his time in Austin, which was the Bronx emcee’s first time at SXSW, the importance of networking and connecting with other artists across genres, other artists he’d like to work with in the future, and the underlying messages in his music.
YONAS also chats with KarmaloopTV about the progress on his first official album, The Proven Theory, which will be released April 25th on City Of Dreams. “I’m talking for the average person that feels like they’re struggling to make it,” explains YONAS, “from a perspective where I am trying to see my hopes and dreams come true.”

It’s always a benefit when you can figure out your calling in life at a young age. With a passion for making music, DJ Khalil knew since a young boy that making music was what he wanted to do and he didn’t waste anytime making it happen. After linking up with L.A. rapper Chace Infinite, they formed the group Self Scientific and began to make a name for themselves. After years of hard-work and attention to his craft, Dr. Dre saw real talent in Khalil and tapped him to be one of Aftermath’s in-house producers. Khalil’s uncanny focus has earned him a grammy yet the motivation that has gotten him to the level he is at today has not been lost – BlowHipHopTV
