The other week, Big Pooh announced the forthcoming release of Dirty Pretty Things, and now, with the November 1st release date fast approaching for the North Carolina spitter’s long-awaited sophomore solo LP, Big Pooh is excited to release the brand new single, “They Say.”
The song, produced by Kudie Fresh and featuring R&B chanteuse Chokolate on the hook, kicks things off with an innately west coast-vibe; a mix of staccato strings, heavy bass, vocal chops, and synths create a fittingly raw backdrop for Pooh’s aggressive raps as he rebukes naysayers and shakes off hanger-on’s. “Get it done anyway/ Fuck what them people say/ As we look around, notice who ain’t with me here today,” raps Pooh, before exclaiming, “My circle getting small, my legend growing bigger/ And I’m yet to reach my apex, go figure/ All the respect that I’ve accumulated/ You could times that by 10 and it’s understated.”
As apart of Nike Sportswear’s original video series, “Always On,” the shoe company has released an exclusive video featuring Lakers star Lamar Odom and rapper Stalley. Maybach Music’s Stalley created original music accompanying the video, featuring Odom’s journey from his home in Los Angeles to his hometown turf in Queens, New York. In it, the installment reflects on a “day in the life” with Odom from walking down Jamaica Avenue and practice at Frederick B. Judge Park. Included with this video is an original track from Ohio’s Stalley called “Born To Win”, which is produced by Columbus, Ohio’s J. Rawls.

Chicago’s own Rasheed Hadee stops by today with a leak off his upcoming EP “Leakage The PrEp,” entitled “All Over Again.” This jawn is deep rooted in that good ole fashion, soulful-boom bap, a Hadee production has become known for. On this introspective jawn, Rashid Hadee the emcee comes from an honest place, as he recounts a few missteps that directly (and indirectly) impacted his life. As cliche as it sounds, the man behind the mic and the boards, made a conscious choice of turning a negative into a positive. Get your neck muscles ready and have your swim game in order as you enjoy the latest drown-load from “Leakage The PrEp.”
